Played by the Golowan Band in Penzance since the 1990s. Typically played as a set with St John's during the torchlit procession along Chapel Street on St John's Eve. The band begin with St John's and then change to Abbey Slip as the procession reaches the junction with Abbey Street.
The tune is very similar to the Galician tune called Salta Un Xic and the Polish nursery rhyme Mam chusteczkę haftowaną (I have an embroidered handkerchief ). It is unclear how this tune arrived in the Golowan Band repertoire.
